I work not far away so I go here a lot. Ive been frequenting many of their locations for years so I've watched this chain grow and evolve over the years.
Unfortunately its has devolved and gone down hill, more specifically the Santa Monica location.
The service: The worst. Super slow, understaffed, inexperienced. They can't keep employees so its someone new every other week. They ALL hate working there and its so clear, which to me is a direct reflection of of management. My order is literally scooping 3 scoops of cold, already prepared food onto a place, maybe 15 seconds of work. It takes soooo long. To top it off, the portions have gotten smaller and smaller over the years and more and more expensive. Also depending on who serves you, you get different sized portions. The manager gives the SMALLEST portions, its almost aggravating.
The increase in price would be normal over the years except that the price went up and the portion went down. Most places just increase pricing with food costs and inflation, but not lemonade.
Food, the food is still good. Simple. Nothing better or worse, its tasty food, just less of it.
Overall its really gone downhill, the vibe inside is horrible, employees hate it there, prices up, portions down. -

Can Lemonade please come to the east coast? Pleeeeeeease.
We need more fast casual food options like this everywhere. After several days of eating decadently, I was craving veggies. Coincidentally, a friend had asked me if I'd been to Lemonade yet while on my CA vacation. I think he asked because I mentioned how much I love lemonade, as in the beverage. I had not, so when I stumbled upon this place...I was overjoyed.
Lemonade offers sandwiches, a wide variety of pre-mixed salads, hot items, bowls, and of course...lemonades! HELLO HEAVEN. I went for the Marketplate because so many of the salads looked good and I couldn't decide. I love the idea of being able to choose four.
I ordered the:
Mexican Chili Roasted Butternut Squash - Meh, which is surprising considering how much I love squashes and Mexican flavors. I didn't like the textures in this that much and I didn't think the flavors were authentic.
Grilled Artichoke Asparagus - GOOD!
Gemelli Pasta & English Peas - SO GOOD! This one was recommended by the employee plating the food. He said it was his favorite and I'm so glad I went with it. The combination of cucumber and mint with the peas was just really light and fresh-tasting.
Beet Couscous - AMAZING! I loved everything about this, from the dressing to the goat cheese. I
The plate also comes with a "crisp," which is essentially a bread so toasty, it's practically a crouton. There was nothing special about it, so I didn't really finish it.
Once you get to the cashier, you can then order your lemonade. There are a bunch of flavors, including "skinny" versions. The cashier let us sample a few and informed me that skinny meant that they do a half and half with tea. I figured it was a good choice to do a skinny version, to reduce some of my sugar intake...REGRETTED IT. I would have enjoyed the regular lemonade so much more. At least the skinny ones are pretty.
Can't speak to the convenience of the location, but the restaurant itself was clean and had some outdoor tables, which was nice because we had a furry friend with us.
If I lived near a Lemonade, I'd definitely be a regular. -

Solid, good food with nice counter presentation. The customer service was great. The portion sizes are not overly generous but are adequate. Overall tasty food and I like that they allow you to sample items. No complaints!

I've had Lemonade a fair amount of times to give a fair review here. And as such, I've tried multiple items on their menu. From their various salads, sandwiches, hot foods, actual lemonade, and even their poke (not the greatest).
The food selection is pretty diverse serving both hot and cold options, land and sea, plate combo's, etc. The only item I probably wouldn't try again is the poke. It doesn't look like the freshest batch compared to other poke joints out there. But their sandwiches are tasty, their salads even in small portions are fairly satisfying (depending on what type you like), and the cookies are actually pretty bomb.
My biggest gripe is the price for everything from the combo plates all the way down to the lemonades. It's a bit pricy for what you get if you ask me. I spent $12 on a Turkey BLT and yes it was pretty delicious (avocado, arugula, turkey, bacon), but gahhhhd damn that's a bit much for a sandwich. Also not sure about the turnaround rate but sometimes the salads, fish, and meat, look like they've been sitting out for a bit too long.
Overall, it's a solid place with great customer service, just be prepared to pay a little more than expected.
